Gala evening of piano and song – Birmingham Opera Company soloists

Three soloists and a pianist will entertain us with a range of well-loved opera arias, jazz and blues songs, and a few piano fireworks. The church will be sumptuously decorated for the Flower Festival weekend: a suitable backdrop for operatic music.

Organ Recital

Colin Millington – St Mary’s Church, Warwick

Colin graduated from Cambridge last year where he was organ scholar at Corpus Christi College; now he has his first professional post at St Mary’s. His recital will show off the varied colours of the fine Walker organ. A TV screen in each room enables you to watch the intricacies of his organ playing.

Tony and Carol have a fantastic band including a star keyboard player from Northampton. They will present a varied selection of trad jazz to entertain us in style on a summer evening.

William Harris – Cello

William is pursuing post-graduate performance studies at the Eastman School in Rochester, USA. We are delighted to welcome him back for a recital during his busy summer schedule in Europe.

Eblana String Trio

Jonathan, Lucy and Peggy have been playing together for 17 years and now have a considerable following. They return with another uplifting selection of music for string trio, for which the church acoustic is perfectly suited.

Phoenix Saxophone Orchestra

The Market Harborough players use the full range of saxophones, from tiny sopranino to the enormous contrabass version. Back by popular demand after the success of their concert last year, they offer a wide repertoire to suit all musical tastes.

The Swarbrick Singers

Ian Clarke directs his choir in a carefully chosen programme of familiar and less well-known choral music for Advent and Christmas, interspersed with organ chorales. Start the Christmas season in the atmospheric surroundings of Harrington church with candles at sunset. Everyone will be able to join in singing the carols and the now traditional quiz.
